Reaching for Air (2015) was awarded Finalist for Best First Book of Poetry, by the Texas Institute of Letters. A book of story-telling poems about her childhood on a hard-scrabble farm in west Texas, and the process of becoming aware that she was only tolerated, not loved, by her parents who wanted boys.
